GPBA Focus

The GPBA is under a new direction as new faces and inspiration has been added to the leadership of the association. During a recent meeting at Old Mountain Lanes, the association officially added Steve Moses as the Secretary of the Association and Pam Moses as the Vice President. During the meeting Jim McPhail, acting president, and Steve both emphasised how the new focuses were to increase the communication and draw upon more resources offered by the entire board. The meeting was attended by more than 20 members, which many commented how good a turnout it was, "One of the best i can remember," said McPhail. The board added several committees to the association, including a Public Relations Committee and a Tournament Committee. During the new business section of the meeting, it was proposed that the association take a step into the technology age and produce a website. The board approved unanimously to go forward with the idea. Peter Baguchinsky is heading the committee that will develop the site to be open by the start of the fall season. The site is to be registered as gpba-ri.org. Also, the committee gave the approval to this site's newsletter RIPPING THE RACK to go forward acting as the print voice of the association helping to open and to maintain the lines of communication to the bowling community. The association has also begun discussion on adding events to the schedule beyond the annual association and state tournaments. "It is my idea that we could have as many as 6 events per year, instead of just the 2," said Steve Moses.
